TEATRO DE MARIONETAS; TRATANDO SOBREVIVIR

Existen diferentes tipos de muñecos como las marionetas tiradas por hilos y los títeres de tela (guiñol) donde se mete la mano por debajo del vestido. Un tipo de teatro turco que está desapareciendo a causa de la falta de interés, es el teatro de marionetas y títeres (guiñol). Aunque el teatro de marionetas y títeres profesional no parece existir durante el período otomano y republicano, existen muchos documentos que prueban que antiguamente en las bodas y ferias el público veía estas representaciones teatrales.

En los cuentos populares el protagonista es “Keloglan”, en el teatro de sombras “Karagoz” y en el teatro tradicional de marionetas y títeres “Ibis”. Ibis, tanto en el teatro de títeres como en el teatro de marionetas tradicionales es el mayordomo del hogar. Personaje divertido que generalmente está enamorado del ama de casa. Es tímido cuando está con su amada, pero hace todo lo que puede para besarla.

Existen diferentes tipos de representaciones en los bailes populares, uno de ellos implica el acto de atar los hilos de una marioneta a la espalda de un bailarín, de esta manera, cuando el artista se mueve parece que hay dos personas bailando en el escenario. Otro tipo de muñeco se hace pintando una cara en una cuchara de madera, esta forma de espectáculo se denomina " marioneta cuchara".
